Mooncess began writing her own music in college. She started to release her own music on streaming platforms in 2019. 

Since beginning her songwriting journey; Mooncess has learned how to compose, produce, and taught herself piano by ear. Not only does she write vocals and lyrics with her songs, she also enjoys composing full length instrumentals.

Mooncess' Musical style can be described as Electronic with Alternative Classical influences. 

She has sang her orginal work at The Harris Theatre for Music and Dance, Chicago Cultural Center and open mics throughout Chicago. She has also performed at various events as well, such as: The Youth Hood Fair, (Re) Claiming Our Love: Social Justice, Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month Event 2020, SuperSpread The Cheer, Chi Girls Summit, Domestic Violence Awareness Month Event 2021 and more.
